KNOWLEDGE
What Are The Different Types of Acne? And Why Are They There?
Cystic/Teenage Acne:
Deep, painful, often pus-filled cysts that form beneath the skin's surface. Cystic/teenage acne presents randomly across the skin. These are typically more severe and prone to scarring.
Hormonal Acne:
Triggered by hormonal fluctuations, often seen in women during menstruation, pregnancy, or menopause; even occurs in men with large supplemental hormonal shifts. Concentrated around the jawline and chin. Can appear as small pus-filled cysts or closed pores/comedones.
Stress-induced Acne:
Primarily triggered by external stress stimulus. Usually found along and under the jawline.
The Common Causes:
Though there are three archetypes listed above; many things factor into the skin's health and radiance, or lack thereof.
Sebum Overproduction:
Is when excess oil production can clog pores and foster bacterial growth. This happens a lot when we overdry our skin with wrong products and/or poor practices.
Bacterial Growth:
Clogged pores are a breeding ground for bacteria, particularly Propionibacterium acnes, as we often give up and sit with clogged pores for a long time. Allowing this growth to happen, often worsening the reaction.
Hormonal Fluctuations:
Hormonal acne is an archetype, but it doesn't mean that hormone fluctuations can't play a part in other types of acne.
Diet and Lifestyle:
Everything from bad foods, alcohol, drugs (prescription & recreational), sleep schedules and even environment (sun, pollution, etc) play a HUGE role in your skin's health.
Genetics:
Family history can play a role in acne susceptibility, in every form of acne. And it really is a mixed bag, genetics always are; that doesn't mean it's impossible to tackle though.
KNOW-HOW:
What Are The Different Types of Acne? And Why Are They There?
First and foremost. Changing lifestyle is hard. We know. But it has one of the most significant improvements to our body when we make an adjustment for the better.
FOLLOW THE 70-30 RULE
Eat right-enough. Be active-enough. Sleep decent-enough.
30 % of the time, its okay to live!
Couch potato it up; have that big slice of birthday cake; have a late celebratory night with friends.
Life happens, it's just important that it happens less than half the time of your good habits! We recommend 70% of good for absolutely beautiful skin, and 30% of the time to just have fun!
Secondly:
The Products You Use And How You Use Them Are Detrimental To The Repair & Correction Process Of Acne & Scars/Discoloration.
Utilize the products that are specifically meant to soothe and rebalance acne prone skin. NOT "get rid of" acne; don't fall for it!
Here's a tip: Anything that promises to 'get rid of/overnight/instant' is going to be too hard on your skin and do a little more damage than good.
Another incredibly helpful thing for your acne prone skin are the treatments that we offer, here, in the beauty boutique. We utilize many Yonka products during our treatments that do wonders to heal & restore the skin, as well as bring down inflammation.

Treating Your Fitzpatrick's Unique Needs:
Healing The Skin From Within:
The skin needs to be stimulated and encouraged to heal; as we age or our skin gets damaged, dermal levels of ATP decline and creates an energy deficiency, thereby affecting skin appearance. Using products that sink into the skin and provide it the nutrients that it needs helps it restore to its most original healthy state.

There is nothing worse than losing something you love. So don't! There are steps that you can take to prevent acne prone skin from overreacting, train it to be healthier, or even move closer towards total elimination.
